Hamilton\u2019s Thursdays on the Green series continues Aug. 2 on the Village Green in the center of downtown Hamilton with a performance\u00a0by the Nate Gross Band.<\/p>\n

\u201cNate Gross is an old soul,” his bio reads. “At 35 years old,\u00a0he has accomplished great success in the industry playing the styles that have been set\u00a0aside as a new generation of pop music takes over our ears. The Blues. Jazz.\u00a0Traditional Country. R&amp;B. Americana. …Gross fuses these styles together like a cross\u00a0country trip down route 66. From an audience of over 30,000 people at the Taste of\u00a0Country Music Festival to touring up and down the east coast, Nate has played for some\u00a0of the best audiences a musician could hope for.\u201d<\/p>\n

And we couldn\u2019t be more excited to\u00a0host him this Thursday in Hamilton!\u00a0In addition to terrific performances, each night of our series is dedicated to important\u00a0community service providers (teachers, first responders, health care professionals, etc.)\u00a0and includes family-friendly events. This Thursday\u2019s event theme is Racing Night with\u00a0Matt Janczuk. Local Hamilton Police Sgt. Janczuk is a five-time champion and currently\u00a0sits in the lead for his 6th season championship at the Utica-Rome Speedway.<\/p>\n

Yard games will be available including: KanJam, Corn Hole, and the Ladder Game,\u00a0courtesy of Parry’s General Store, as well as Giant Jenga, Yard Yahtzee and a washer toss game. This week\u2019s special activities include making and racing balloon-powered\u00a0Lego race cars, photo opportunities with Janczuk, trivia contests, giveaways and\u00a0chances to win great prizes. There will be free popcorn and free snow cones provided by\u00a0the Colgate Campus Safety Office.<\/p>\n

Folks are encouraged to dine on the Village Green. Local food trucks will be present\u00a0selling their specialties and local restaurants ready for you to take out something tasty.\u00a0Ice cream, generously provided by Hood Dairy, will be sold for a suggested donation of\u00a0$2 with 100 percent of the proceeds going to worthy non-profit organizations. This week\u2019s\u00a0proceeds will benefit the Hamilton Area Community Coalition to build a safe and healthy\u00a0Hamilton by empowering youth to make positive life choices.<\/p>\n

The evening\u2019s concert and events are free. The rain location for this event\u00a0is Hamilton\u2019s Park United Methodist Church. Activities begin at 5:30 p.m. Music will run\u00a0from 7 to 9 p.m.<\/p>\n
