\"\"Morrisville Public Library News<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our 16th Annual Pumpkin Coloring Contest has begun!\u00a0 Stop in to the library and pick up your pumpkin coloring contest entry!\u00a0 You have until October 20 at 4pm to turn in your creations for judging.\u00a0 Open to toddler to 6th graders!\u00a0 Winners will be announced at our Halloween party at the end of the month.<\/p>\n

The Library Board of Trustees are collecting items for the Silent Auction now until Friday November 2.\u00a0 Donations can be such things as hand-crafted items, artwork, gift certificates, donations from businesses, etc., with a minimum value of $5.00.\u00a0 They will not be accepting USED items.\u00a0 New or handmade is acceptable. The bidding begins on November 5!<\/p>\n

Come join us for our Homework Club that meets every Monday through the entire school year from 3:30pm-5pm! Homework will be done, help will be provided and a healthy snack for all.\u00a0 Board games and\/or crafts will also fill the time when homework is done.\u00a0 (Open to school age children from First grade-8th grade!)<\/p>\n

Bring the little ones in for Kiddies Korner, our preschool story hour on Tuesday October 9 at 10am!!\u00a0 Help us have fun with \u201cLet\u2019s Get Messy!\u201d\u00a0 Stories, finger plays a craft and more!\u00a0 If you cannot make that day, join us on Tuesday October 16 for \u201cFall Leaves Fall\u201d!<\/p>\n

Every month we will host an Adulting class for patrons ages 15-25 (though all ages over 15 are welcome!)\u00a0 There are many things we may not know how to do and together we can learn!\u00a0 This month the Morrisville Fire Department is hosting our class on Wednesday October 10 at 6:30pm!\u00a0 Learn about fire safety in college dorms, apartments etc. and how you can stay safe!<\/p>\n

We will host a special presentation by local author and historian Jim Ford entitled \u201cThe History of Madison Lake\u201d on Friday October 12 at 6:30pm. Come and hear as Jim Ford talks about his new book and the history of one of the Town of Madison\u2019s favorite recreation spots.<\/p>\n

We are hosting our Fall Book Sale on Saturday October 13 from 10:00am-4:00pm!\u00a0 Stop in and grab some good books for the fall weather ahead!\u00a0 Stock up for winter too!\u00a0 Can\u2019t beat the prices!\u00a0 We will have adult and kids books, DVD\u2019s, books on tape or CD, music CD\u2019s and more! The sale will be held in the library\u2019s program room.<\/p>\n

Our Annual Great Egg Drop will be Saturday October 13 from11:00am-3:00pm!\u00a0 We are partnering with the Morrisville Fire Department to bring an event of \u201cegg-y\u201d proportions!\u00a0 Can you create a \u201cprotective container\u201d to house a raw egg?\u00a0 The event will take place at the Morrisville Fire House where we will place a raw egg in your creation and the firefighters will drop if from the raised ladder truck! Put your thinking caps on and protect your egg at all costs!\u00a0 All adults and kids are welcome to participate! The winner will receive a Kindle Fire!\u00a0 There will be fire safety activities and fun stuff to do for adults and children that day too!\u00a0 Great event for the entire family!\u00a0 So call or stop into the library and sign up to create your \u201cegg-tastic\u201d safe container now!<\/p>\n

Looking for a good book to read?\u00a0 How about joining our book talk on Wednesday October 17 at 6:30pm as we will be reading, Life We Bury<\/em> by Allen Eskens.\u00a0 Copies can be picked up now!\u00a0 So grab a book, read it and come join us for a sure to be fun discussion!<\/p>\n

On Friday October 19 we will be having a Nerf Battle Night from 8:30pm-11:00pm!\u00a0 Bring your own Nerf equipment (darts too\u2013please label them) and join us for open play around the library!\u00a0 See if the library stacks provide you enough shelter from getting hit by a friend\u2019s foam dart!\u00a0 Open to ages 10 and up; so adults are welcome too!\u00a0 Everyone must bring a snack and beverages will be provided.\u00a0 We only have 16 spaces so sign up now!<\/p>\n

We will be closed on Monday October 8 to observe Columbus Day.\u00a0 We will reopen Tuesday October 9 at 10am.\u00a0 We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 8pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
