Wreath-making workshops with Friends of Rogers<\/strong><\/p>\n

Join Friends of Rogers to create a festive holiday wreath during one of their popular seasonal workshops Dec. 1.<\/p>\n

Three sessions will be offered; one begins at 9:30 am, another at 11:30 am, and the last starts at 2:30 pm. Participants\u00a0will receive instructions and all materials necessary to design and build this traditional decoration.<\/p>\n

A holiday wreath is one of the most popular decorations during the yuletide season. Wreaths are\u00a0 traditionally hung on\u00a0front doors as a sign of welcome, used in Advent wreaths in Christian traditions, strung from lampposts in cities and\u00a0villages, and used in a variety of other ways.<\/p>\n

Although the wreath has strong historical ties to Christianity, the holiday\u00a0wreath has evolved into a sign of welcoming and an acknowledgment of holiday cheer for the season, emphasizing\u00a0generosity, giving and the gathering of loved ones.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are grateful to Visions Federal Credit Union for partnering with us again this year,\u201d said Simon Solomon, executive\u00a0director. \u201cThis generous investment is inspiring, as it has enabled us to continue this popular program for a fourth\u00a0consecutive year!\u201d<\/p>\n

The workshops will be held in the Visitor Center on State Route 80 in Sherburne; those needing to may use the adjacent\u00a0parking lot, and the center is accessible.<\/p>\n

Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that\u00a0offers educational programs for people of all ages. Seasonal hours are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through\u00a0Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
