{"id":98624,"date":"2018-01-01T07:32:59","date_gmt":"2018-01-01T12:32:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=98624"},"modified":"2018-12-31T11:55:13","modified_gmt":"2018-12-31T16:55:13","slug":"utica-public-library-announces-11th-annual-adult-art-contest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=98624","title":{"rendered":"Utica Public Library announces 11th annual adult art contest"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"226\" height=\"190\" src=\"http:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Art-Contest-graphic-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-38817\" srcset=\"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Art-Contest-graphic-1.jpg 226w, https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Art-Contest-graphic-1-150x126.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 226px) 100vw, 226px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Utica Public Library will host its 11th annual Express\nYourself Adult Art Contest in February 2019; registration and contest entries\nwill be accepted in the main lobby of the library from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday,&nbsp;Jan.\n25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first 55 entries received will comprise the contest, no\nentries will be accepted after that point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are six categories: Best of Show, Best Use of Detail,\nBest Use of Color, Best Abstract, Best Concept \u201cOutside-the-Box\u201d and Best Use\nof Black and White.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Six different cash prizes will be awarded, including a $200\nfirst-place prize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most flat-surface media will be accepted; however, there are\nexceptions.&nbsp;Pick up a contest rule sheet at the library to be clear on\naccepted media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The contest is open to all area adults, ages 18 and\nup.&nbsp;All entries must be ready for wall display (hook or wire on the back),\nand participants may submit one entry each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Winners Reception will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday,&nbsp;Feb.\n19, and all participants are invited to attend.&nbsp;Winners will be announced\nat the reception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All 55 entries will be on display from Saturday, Feb. 2,&nbsp;through\nSaturday, Feb. 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Complete contest rules are available at the library and on\nthe library website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information, call 315.735.2279.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Utica Public Library will host its 11th annual Express Yourself Adult Art Contest in February 2019; registration and contest entries will be accepted in the main lobby of the library from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday,&nbsp;Jan. 25.
