{"id":98970,"date":"2019-01-25T17:25:51","date_gmt":"2019-01-25T22:25:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=98970"},"modified":"2019-01-25T11:58:36","modified_gmt":"2019-01-25T16:58:36","slug":"skillsusa-competition-is-feb-8-in-suny-morrisvilles-one-of-a-kind-facilities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=98970","title":{"rendered":"SkillsUSA competition is Feb. 8 in SUNY Morrisville\u2019s one-of-a-kind facilities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"225\" height=\"224\" src=\"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Morrisville-State-College.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-58192\" srcset=\"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Morrisville-State-College.jpg 225w, https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Morrisville-State-College-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Nearly 900 students from 19 high schools and BOCES\nfacilities will showcase their talents and brush up on their skills during the\nSkillsUSA Area II Competition at SUNY Morrisville Friday, Feb. 8, 2019.\nContests begin at 9:30 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In case of inclement weather, the event will be held Friday,\nMarch 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The annual event features students from technical schools\nand BOCES programs throughout Central New York competing in more than 60 events\nwithin job fields including computers and communications, construction, culinary,\nhealth, leadership, mechanics and security and law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Competitions, judged by SUNY Morrisville faculty, students,\nand industry and education representatives, expose participants to the\ncollege\u2019s one-of-a-kind facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An awards ceremony at 3:30 p.m. will recognize the top three\nfinishers from each contest.
