State police investigate stabbing incident in town of Western<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Jan. 24, 2019, at\napproximately 2:15 p.m., state police responded to 7893 Gifford Hill Road in\nthe town of Western for a reported stabbing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon arrival, troopers discovered\nthe victim, 31-year-old Alan Rizzuto, Jr., was allegedly stabbed by his\nbrother, 25-year-old Aarin A. Rizzuto, during a physical altercation inside the\nresidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victim was transported to St.\nElizabeth\u2019s Medical Center in Utica where he underwent surgery and was listed\nin stable condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aarin A. Rizzuto was\ncharged with first-degree assault, a class B felony; and fourth-degree criminal\npossession of a weapon, a class A misdemeanor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was transported to the Oneida\nCounty Jail pending Centralized Arraignment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

State police arrested\u00a0Andrew S. Converse, 36, of Watertown, for first-degree criminal contempt, a class E felony and second-degree harassment, a violation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Converse is charged with violating a court order of protection after a physical altercation with the female victim outside a residence on Porter Road in the town of LeRay.\u00a0He was arraigned in the town of LeRay Court and remanded to the Jefferson County Jail on $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Converse is scheduled to return to LeRay Town Court Jan. 30, 2019, at 1:30 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Troopers investigate Amish buggy crash in Herkimer County<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


<\/strong>On Friday, Jan. \u00a025, 2019, at 8:35 p.m., state police in Herkimer responded to a truck v. Amish buggy personal injury accident on Honey Hill Road in the town of Newport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investigation at the scene reveals that an Amish horse-drawn\nbuggy was being operated by Samuel Miller, 14, who was pulling out of a\nprivate residence located at 392 Honey Hill Road and into the direct path of a\n2008 Chevrolet pickup truck with a snowplow operated by Jeffrey S.\nYaworski, 28, from Newport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the collision, the horse dragged the buggy west,\neventually breaking free, and the buggy came to rest off the northern shoulder\nof the roadway. Miller was transported by Kuyahorra Ambulance to St\nElizabeth’s Emergency Department and then to SUNY Upstate Medical University in\nSyracuse for skull and facial fractures; he was listed in stable condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yaworski was not injured in the crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Troopers investigate head-on crash in Oswego County<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


<\/strong>State police are investigating a two-vehicle head-on crash that occurred at approximately 5 p.m. Jan. 27 on County Route 10 in the town of Schroeppel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investigation has revealed a 2010 Chevrolet pickup truck\noperated by D.J. Shattell, 28, of Baldwinsville, was southbound on County\nRoute 10 when he crossed into the northbound lane, striking a 2003 Nissan\nAltima head-on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The driver of the Nissan, Nathanael J. Mountain, 27,\nfrom Liverpool, and two passengers (ages 7 and 26) were all transported to SUNY\nUpstate Medical University in Syracuse with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shattell was transported to SUNY Upstate Medical University\nin Syracuse with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
