Anken, III, was pursuing his father, who\nis in his pickup truck, with a log skidder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Troopers observed both vehicles northbound on Pennystreet\nRoad and were forced off the roadway by the log skidder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A slow-speed pursuit ensued northbound on Pennystreet Road\nto State Route 46, then on to Gifford Hill and Camroden Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anken then traveled off the road through open fields adjacent\nto his residence and abandoned the skidder in the woods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A member of the state police Special Operations Response\nTeam with K9 Diff located Anken and took him into custody without any further\nincident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Charles David Anken, III, 43, was charged with first-degree\nreckless endangerment (a class D felony), driving while intoxicated &nbsp;and several vehicle and traffic violations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was transported to the Oneida County Jail pending\ncentralized arraignment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Oneida County\nSheriff\u2019s Office and the state Department of Environmental Conservation Police.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Feb. 20, 2019, at 2:51 p.m., state police were dispatched to a domestic dispute between a father and son at 7189 Cemetery Road in Rome.
