Clear Path for Veterans in Chittenango will host its annual Vietnam Veterans Appreciation Day March 29, sponsored by SRC, Inc. of Syracuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United States was involved\nin Vietnam from 1950 through 1975, deploying nearly 2.6 million military\npersonnel to the war effort. There were 58,220 casualties in the Vietnam War\nand, according to the Defense Prisoner of War\/Missing in Action Accounting\nAgency, 1,592 who fought during the war remain missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vietnam Veterans Appreciation\nDay is a day set aside at Clear Path to honor those who served and remember\nthose who died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guest speaking at the event\nwill be Grant Coates, National Sergeant-at-Arms Chair for the POW\/MIA Committee.\n\u201cThe POW\/MIA program seeks the fullest accounting of those still listed as\nPOW\/MIA in Southeast Asia and anywhere else, regardless of the conflict from\nwhich they went missing or were captured,\u201d according to the organization\u2019s\nwebsite. Coates will discuss one of POW\/MIA signature sponsorships: the\nVeterans Initiative where through the sharing of information Veteran-to-Veteran,\nAmerica\u2019s and Vietnam\u2019s Veterans are able to develop new sources of information\nto help resolve the issue of American and Vietnamese MIA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lunch courtesy the culinary\nprogram at Clear Path will be served starting at 11 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Table displays or representatives from the Syracuse Vet Center, Veterans Affairs, county-level Veteran Services, Vietnam Veterans of America, POW, Syracuse Honor Flight and Easter Seals will also be present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
