Help Honor Someone Making a Difference in the Lives of Seniors in Western and Central New York

WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (NYSE: WCG), a leading provider of Medicaid and Medicare Advantage managed care health plans in New York, is looking to honor individuals who are helping to better the lives of seniors in western and central New York. Now through June 24, WellCare is asking local residents to visit www.WellCareChampions.com and nominate a local champion.

WellCare Champions are your families, your friends, your colleagues and your neighbors. They are New York residents who are an example of how one person can make a difference in the lives of seniors.

Five finalists will be recognized as WellCare Champions during a Syracuse Mets pre-game ceremony on Aug. 1, 2019. They will also participate in an online competition where baseball fans, the community, and friends and family can vote for the individual story worthy of earning the grand prize.

The 2019 WellCare Grand Champion will be announced at the New York State Fair and will present a $10,000 donation to a charitable organization of his or her choice.

“We are excited to continue the champions competition this year,” said Dan DeLucia, senior market director for WellCare. “Each year, the competition opens our eyes to the amazing work of individuals and not-for-profit organizations that are making an impact on the lives of children and seniors in New York and provides us an opportunity to recognize the important contributions these champions are making in their communities.”

The competition is open to those living in the following counties: Broome, Cayuga, Cortland, Erie, Herkimer, Madison, Niagara, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego and Tompkins.
