Cornell Cooperative Extension of Herkimer will host four pre-harvest corn silage meetings throughout the region over the next two weeks.
One of these workshops will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at Mononfran Farms, 2806 Seneca Turnpike (Route 5) at the corner of Jennings Road in Canastota.
The topic will be corn growth and development as it relates to harvesting dry matter; in particular, the workshop will look at harvest and silo management of corn that is late-planted and will be frosted before harvest.
