The public is invited to attend a free opening reception for artist Rosette Schureman from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, at 4 Elements Studio, 730 Broadway, Utica. Her work will be on view and available for purchase through Nov. 10.

Born in Princeton, N.J., Schureman came to Central New York to attend Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute and received her fine arts degree from Syracuse University. Rosette works on her family farm in Barneveld, where she also maintains her painting and printmaking studios.

Inspired by natural objects and landscapes, Rosette incorporates organic materials and pieces of her digital photography into her paintings and collages, along with rice paper, acrylic, watercolor and pastels.
