Clear Path for Veterans announced the launch of the Vietnam Veterans Appreciation Open, to be held in conjunction with the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 103. Clear Path’s Vietnam Veterans Appreciation Open will take place at The Pompey Club Aug. 3, 2020.
In honor of the dedication and support of VVA Chapter 103, Clear Path for Veterans will carry on its annual Donald M. Benack Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament. Each year, the VVA tournament raises money through donations, prizes, individual and corporate sponsorships for local veteran- and military-focused organizations. This year, all funds raised at the Vietnam Veterans Appreciation Open will support Clear Path for Veteran’s essential programs and services.
Golfers will enjoy a day of golf at the Pompey Club beginning with registration, breakfast and coffee in the clubhouse at 8 a.m. and a captain-and-crew shotgun start at 10 a.m. (Due to current health and safety regulations, a shotgun start is not permissible at this time and teams will need to register for a tee time at sign up.) Lunch will be provided at the turn and the day will finish with Pompey’s famous steak dinner.
The safety of everyone is our priority, and we will follow all state and local health guidelines. If the guidelines change by Aug. 3 and a shotgun start is permitted, the tournament will have a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
Registration is $100 per player and $400 per foursome. The event will feature a number of prizes, including a hole in one prize, raffles, a 50/50 raffle, putting contest and more.
Like the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 103, Clear Path for Veterans strives to educate, strengthen and inspire Veterans and organizations to work together to strengthen our communities. Clear Path For Veterans is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that serves veterans, military members and their families in 23 counties in New York state. In 2019, Clear Path provided essential programs and services to support the physical and emotional needs of more than 30,000 Veterans, military members and their family members.
