(Oneida, NY – Jan. 21, 2013) Authors, outdoor writers, and wildlife artist Deborah Brosen will be featured at the 2013 CNY Sportsman Show scheduled for Feb. 2 in Oneida. The show for outdoor enthusiasts will be held at the Kallet Civic Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Other attractions are booth displays, free seminars, mount displays, renowned Adirondack trackers Jim Massett and Joe DiNitto, and the return of the Salerno brothers. The artist and authors are:

J. Michael “Mike” Kelly:  A retired outdoors columnist from the Syracuse Post Standard where he worked for many years.  He is a freelance writer who has appeared in more than 20 publications, including New York Game & Fish.  He has won dozens of awards for excellence in writing from the NYS Outdoor Writers’ Association. Many of his favorite columns are included in his new book Farewell Old Girl.

Jay O’Hern: Jay has researched and written about many Adirondack personalities, eras, and adventures.  Some of his most popular include “Adirondack Adventures”, “Adirondack Characters & Campfire Yarns”, and “Noah John Rondeau’s Adirondack Wilderness Days

John Pitaressi:  John has been a writer for the Utica Observer Dispatch for almost 40 years, and an outdoor columnist since 1980.  He is a long hunter and angler, and especially enjoys trout fishing.  He is a former member of the Outdoor Writers’ Association.

Mike Seymour: A licensed guide and licensed coast guard captain who has guided from Alaska to the St. Lawrence River.  He has fished extensively all over NYS with special attention on the St. Lawrence River, northern NY, and the Adirondacks.  He is an outdoor writer who writes a regular column in several magazines and newspapers.  His latest book “The Smart Guide to Fishing” gives a thorough treatment of techniques, areas, ethics, and equipment.

Nancy Pulling Best: After many years of writing for newspapers magazines, brochures and fun, Best has published her first book.  The 4th generation Adirondack native is originally from Thendara.  “Learning to Cook Adirondack” is a collection of recipes and memories. The book includes 48 recipes and many historic photos.

“Spider “ Rybaak:  A freelance writer and photographer who is the outdoor writer for Oswego County Tourism fishing reports.  He is the author of Fishing Eastern New York and Fishing Western New York – the authoritative reference books for fishing 500 of the top waters in New York State.

Todd Mead: A tournament archer and north woods big game hunter from Queensbury who wrote a monthly column for “Outdoor Magazine”.  He is the author of the Adirondack deer hunting book A Lifetime of Big Woods Memories.

Deborah Brosen: An accomplished wildlife artist whose specialty is creating wildlife paintings on turkey feathers.  She has been commissioned by the Rocky Mt. Elk Foundation to create a series of art works on feathers.  She also does conventional paintings and has been honored by the Conservationist with creating the annual paintings of the biggest bucks shot in NYS each year.  Her realistic paintings have earned her several awards.
