Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney (R, C—New Hartford) and candidate for Congress in New York-22, issued the following statement in response to receiving the endorsement of the Conservative Party of New York State.
“I am honored to receive, and I accept the endorsement of the Conservative Party of New York State,” said Tenney. “I am the only conservative Republican running for Congress in the 22nd district with a proven record of championing our conservative principles. In Congress, I will stand up to the political class and special interests to advance commonsense reforms to create economic growth, cut taxes and spending, secure the border, rebuild our military and protect our values. Like I have done in Albany, I will fight to end the failed policies in Washington that are punishing low and middle income families in New York, and driving jobs out of our country.”
New York State Conservative Party Chairman Mike Long said, “Claudia Tenney will be a fighter for conservative principles that have made our country great, but have been abandoned by far too many politicians in Albany, and Washington. The voters of New York’s 22nd District can trust Claudia to work to fix the damage politicians are doing to our economy with ObamaCare, job-killing regulations and crushing taxes. As she has proven in Albany, Claudia will lead the fight against public corruption and stand for the rule of law. We can trust her to do the right thing and I am proud to stand with Claudia Tenney in her campaign for Congress.”
Tenney continued, “I want to thank the local Conservative Party members who support my campaign and advocated for this endorsement.”
Chris Kendall, Madison County Conservative Chairman said, “Claudia Tenney has demonstrated through her actions in 5 years as an Assemblywoman that she is a fiscal conservative who fights the waste, the crony capitalism and pay to play corruption that infests our government and causes our taxes to be the highest in the Country. She has led the fight against SAFE Act from day one and fought Common Core. She has advocated for limited government, personal responsibility and traditional family values. In a time when politicians talk the talk of these things, she has walked the walk to serve the people. That is why we support her so strongly to be our next member of Congress.”
Tenney is a top-rated conservative in the New York State Assembly and won conservative legislator of the year in 2011. Tenney is endorsed by Citizens United, Family Research Council, the New Hartford Republican Committee and the Oswego County Republican Committee. Tenney has an A-Rating from the National Rifle Association, and was SCOPE legislator of the Year in 2014. Tenney was the first legislator to call for Sheldon Silver’s resignation in 2012 and the first to introduce the full repeal of the unconstitutional SAFE Act.
