Utica man charged with endangering the welfare of a child

Major Philip T. Rougeux of the New York State Police and Chief Deputy Michael Purdy of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, announce the arrest of 31-year-old Han San of Utica for one count of endangering the welfare of a child a class A misdemeanor.

San is accused of engaging in a dating-type relationship with a minor under the age of 17 years old and sneaking into her residence during the overnight hours.

The defendant is a New York state registered level II sex offender.  The defendant was taken into custody and held in the Utica Police Department lock-up pending arraignment in Utica City Court. The victim was offered services through the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.

The investigation was conducted by State Police Investigator Donald Moore and Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Melissa Bolton are assigned to the Oneida County CAC, a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary team that fights child abuse by providing a wide range of services for child victims, while also aggressively pursuing the offenders of these crimes.
