(Cazenovia, NY – Sept. 2014) Rev. Debra Thomas will preach at the 10 a.m. service at the First Presbyterian Church of Cazenovia Sept. 21. Her message will be centered on the question “What Are We Doing Here?”

Thomas is serving as interim pastor of Westernville First Presbyterian Church in Utica Presbytery as she helps the church to discern its mission and ministry in preparation for their search for a permanently installed pastor.

She has also served churches in Weedsport, Skaneateles, Hannibal and Liverpool.

Thomas received her M.Div from Colgate-Rochester-Crozer Divinity School in Rochester and earned her certification as a Christian educator after attending the master’s program at Union Theological Seminary/Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, Vir. She also holds a bachelor of arts in Spanish and education from SUNY Potsdam.

Thomas lives in Baldwinsville with her husband of 35 years and has three grown children. Her favorite scripture verse is Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.”
