(New Hartford, NY – Oct. 2014) Governor Cuomo said that the people concerned about the negative impacts of fracking “are the most prevalent protest group in the state by far.” This issue has been of concern since before he was elected.

If this is of utmost concern to his constituents, then why can’t this governor allocate the time and resources to travel a couple hundred miles to understand what happened to our neighbors in PA. Governor Cuomo recently took 2 trips overseas, to Israel and Afghanistan, but yet he cannot find the time to visit Pennsylvanians who have suffered serious negative impacts from the shale gas industry.

Hawkins is the only candidate committed to banning the process of shale gas extraction commonly referred to as fracking.

  1. I agree with Pete. Gov. Cuomo has allowed fracking waste and expanded gas infrastructure into our state, so he is not to be trusted in his claim that he is “waiting for the science” to help him make his decision. I believe he has already made his decision and just waiting until after the election to drop the fracking bomb on us.
