(Town of Lebanon, NY – Feb. 2015) The Lebanon Town Board is looking for local residents interested in serving on a committee that will study the current Land Management Local Law and Subdivision Laws within the township and consider whether laws need to be changed, updated or eliminated. Former Comprehensive Planning Committee Chair Susan Galbraith has been working on researching the local laws and their origins/rationale, and will be creating a summary of the current laws and their rationale with recommendations so that the committee can get focused on specific areas of need or action.

The committee will also have the opportunity to consider the recommendations of the Comprehensive Planning Committee in its deliberations and where such recommendations might be implemented by local law changes or additions.

The Town Board is also looking for an individual to serve on the Town Planning Board. There is currently one vacancy. The planning board meets monthly and reviews requests for subdivisions, change of use of property and other responsibilities as outlined in the Land Management Local Law and Subdivision Law. Details on the responsibilities by law of the planning board may be found on the town website www.townoflebanon.org.

Any individual wishing to serve on either of these important public bodies should contact Supervisor Jim Goldstein at 837-4152 or by email at Lebanon@citlink.net.

The Town Board is hoping to have equal representation from all the portions of the township as well as having members of the town board, planning board and board of appeals serve on the committee that will study the Land Management Local Law and Subdivision Law.
