(Town of Nelson, NY – July 2015) You ran the mountain with the goat – the lake in red, white and blue; now run in the country with the cows.
The Mad Cow 5K Race will be held Saturday Aug. 1 at the town of Nelson Office, on Nelson Road. Sign-ups are held between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. The race begins at 9 a.m.

The Mad Cow 5K Race has been in existence for several years and is In Your Pace’s ode to the history of the Holstein cow and Madison County. This fun-filled and family-friendly event is more than a race. You are running through Madison County, and running through local history. There is always a festive environment and walkers and runners of all capabilities are welcome. Many entire families attend together.
Awards are presented to the top male and female finishers overall and in age levels spanning 12 years (and under) up to 70 plus. There is always a raffle for everyone else.
The proceeds of this event help CAP of Madison County to continue to work with families, children and individuals and to improve the well-being and safety of members of the community. Other local charities are also recipients.
