Area students intern through SUNY Oswego
(Aug. 2015) Several area residents enrolled at SUNY Oswego took part in off-campus internships in summer 2015 through the college’s Center for Experiential Learning.
Jesse C. Macwilliam of East Lake Road in Cazenovia, a senior majoring in broadcasting and mass communication, interned at CNY Central in Syracuse.
Gerianne Corradino of Robinson Road in Chittenango, a senior majoring in language and international trade, interned at Nee Nees in Fayetteville.
Christopher M. Morehouse of Bates Avenue in Oneida, a senior majoring in business administration, interned at Northwestern Mutual in New Hartford.
Brian T. Valesky of Hunt Valley Road in Oneida, a senior majoring in wellness management, interned at 3 Pound Health in Syracuse.
Coppola Earns Degree
Sean Coppola of Canastota, son of Colette and Frank Coppola graduated from Hartwick College with a major in geology. He participated in Men’s Varsity Tennis and Delta Delta G.
Gridley Graduates from University of Central Missouri
Michael Gridley of Madison graduated from the University of Central Missouri May 8 with a Master of Science degree. More than 1,000 students met their graduation requirements and were eligible to participate in the ceremonies.
Gianforte Earns Spring Dean’s List Honors
Piper Gianforte, a resident of Cazenovia has been named to the Spring 2015 Dean’s List at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I. Piper is a Individualized program major. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean’s List that semester.
Silfer named to President’s List
Jessy Silfer, a University of Iowa student from Cazenovia was named to the university’s President’s List for the spring 2015 semester. In order to be included on the list, a student must have a minimum 4.0 grade point average (4.0 is an A) in all academic subjects for the preceding two semesters, with a total of at least 12 semester hours of credit per semester during that period.

Mosack receives Deans’ Award
SUNY Oswego has provided a Deans’ Award to Daniel T. Mosack of Chittenango in recognition of past academic achievement and potential for success.
Mosack reserved a place in the incoming class for the fall 2015 semester, majoring in accounting. He last studied at Chittenango High School, and was scheduled to begin classes Aug. 24 at Oswego.
SUNY Oswego Awards Merit Scholarships
SUNY Oswego has awarded Merit Scholarships to a select group of students who are starting at the college in fall 2015.
The Merit awards are $3,000 over four years. For non-New York state students, the total award can increase to as much as $35,000 in combination with a Destination Oswego scholarship.

Area student earns Presidential Scholarships
SUNY Oswego has awarded Presidential Scholarships to a select group of students who are starting at the college in fall 2015.
The scholarships are $18,800 over four years for students residing on campus. Off-campus Presidential Scholarships are $2,350 a year. For non-New York state students, the total award can increase to as much as $50,800 in combination with a Destination Oswego scholarship.
First-year students who have completed the strongest academic programs with the highest grade averages and standardized test scores are invited to become Presidential Scholars.

SUNY Potsdam Students Complete Spring 2015 Internships
Nearly 250 SUNY Potsdam students completed internship placements at companies, non-profits or campus departments in Spring 2015.
SUNY Potsdam’s internship program places students with employers whose interests align with their studies. Each student intern has a faculty sponsor, and earns between 1 and 12 credits toward their degree requirements.

Wilkes University welcomes Erik Eklund of Chittenango into the class of 2019. Eklund is one of over 600 students who make up the University’s newest undergraduate class. Eklund is studying pre-pharmacy.
Perrin named to President’s Honor Roll
Randy Perrin of Bridgeport has been named to the President’s Honor Roll with a 4.00 grade point average for the Summer 2015 semester at Bismarck State College. Students must maintain a 4.00 grade point while enrolled in at least 12 semester hours of classes to receive this distinction.
