Mary E. Messere will be the guest speaker at the Madison County Historical Society’s Annual Dinner and Program on Sunday, Oct. 25. The dinner and program are open to MCHS membership and the public.

(Oneida, NY – Oct. 2015) The Madison County Historical Society invites all of its members and the public to the society’s Annual Dinner and Program on Sunday Oct. 25 at the Lakeview Restaurant located on the Oneida Community Golf Course, 1017 Golf Lane in Oneida.

The afternoon program, “History you never knew,” will be presented by guest speaker Mary E.  Messere. The event commences at 1:30 p.m.

Messere, former Madison County Historian, author, and videographer also known as “Back Street Mary,” will explore the lesser-known history of Madison County through the years. Well known and promoted are the Erie Canal, Gerrit Smith and the Oneida Community, but Messere will show there is much more to Madison County’s history rich past.

The buffet meal will be served at 2:30 p.m. and includes: soup du jour; caesar salad; greens; baked chicken; eggplant parmigiana; sausage, peppers, and potatoes; pasta marinara; and mini cannoli.

Raffle tickets will be sold throughout the event for various prizes. All proceeds benefit restoration at the Madison County Historical Society. Other ongoing raffle tickets will also be sold throughout the event.
