Effective immediately the yard waste site at the Town of Cazenovia Transfer Station will only be open on Friday and Saturday from 7:10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for residential use only.
The yard waste site at the Cazenovia Transfer Station was being accessed after hours through the parking lot of the Town of Cazenovia Highway Garage. This access can no longer be utilized by commercial or residential users as a locked gate is being installed to meet NYSDEC access requirements and will only be open for use during regular transfer station operating hours.
Commercial users are not permitted to dispose of yard waste, limbs or stumps at the Cazenovia Transfer Station. Commercial users must take this material to the Main Landfill Site on Buyea Road in the Town of Lincoln.
Acceptable materials from residents include: brush, woodchips, grass, leaves, tree limbs up to six (6) inches wide and no longer than 10-feet in length.
James Zecca, director of the Dept. of Solid Waste asks residents to please make sure there are no plastic bags or metal in the material they dispose of at the yard waste sites.
