On June 19, State Police arrested Christopher M. Snyder, 20, of 9283 East Floyd Road, Holland Patent, on a charge of one count of third-degree burglary, a class D felony.
On June 23, State Police arrested Dallas J. Wood, 21, of 512 West Thomas St., Rome, on a charge of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a class A misdemeanor.
Both arrests are the result of an investigation into Sunday’s fatal accident in the town of Vienna involving Tyler K. Sharron, 18, from Rome. The investigation revealed that Snyder and Sharron committed several burglaries and larcenies on Forest Avenue and Lakeshore Road North in the town of Verona in the early morning hours of June 19.
Sharron stole the Ford F150 pickup truck from a residence on Forest Avenue minutes before being involved in the motor vehicle accident. All crimes had been unreported at the time of the accident. Snyder admitted to his involvement and the locations of the stolen property, which were recovered by State Police. Wood was found in possession of some of the stolen items at his residence in Rome. Several other subjects who were with Snyder and Sharron were interviewed but not implicated in any crimes.
No further arrests are anticipated.
Snyder was arraigned in the Town of Verona Court and remanded to the Oneida Co Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail. Wood was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Verona Town Court July 5.
