Madison County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested Robert W. Kimball, 54, of Chittenango, and charged him with falsely reporting an incident in the third degree (class A misdemeanor). It is alleged that on Sept. 11, 2016, Kimball falsely reported to Madison County deputies that his 2008 H3 Hummer was stolen from his residence.

Through the investigation, it was determined that Kimball intentionally submerged the vehicle into the pond on Oxbow Road in the Town of Cicero to avoid loan payments.

Kimball was issued an appearance ticket directing him to appear at the Sullivan Town Court Nov. 1, 2016, to answer charges.

VEHICLE STOLEN FROM MADISON COUNTY TOWN OF SULLIVAN RECOVERED IN ONONDAGA COUNTY

(Wampsville) A vehicle that was reported stolen from a residence on Route 5 in the Madison County Town of Sullivan early Saturday morning was recovered Sunday afternoon submerged in a pond on Oxbow Road, off Kirkville Road, in the Town of Cicero The stolen vehicle came on the heels of an investigation into an attempted break-in at a neighboring residence. At 6:11 AM  Saturday morning, an unknown person attempted to break into a residence on Route 5 near Quarry Road in the Town of Sullivan.

The victim was sleeping when she was awoken by a noise coming from the rear of her residence.  The victim proceeded into her kitchen where she observed a pair of hands with brown mesh gloves grasping the window sill through an open window.  The victim yelled at the suspect and slammed the window shut. The suspect fled in an unknown direction of travel.  The victim called 911 and deputies from the Madison County

Sheriff’s Office responded but were unable to locate the suspect.

While speaking to neighbors of the victim regarding the attempted break-in, another person advised that their blue 2008 H3 Hummer was missing from their residence. Additional canvassing of the area, as well as statewide broadcast of the stolen vehicle information followed.

Later Saturday, the blue Hummer was recovered from a pond in the Town of Cicero. The vehicle was retrieved and brought to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
