Ready To Read

Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.

Preschool children with their parents or guardians will enjoy rhymes, songs, fingerplay, crafts and stories in an early-literacy program led by Megan Gillander.

Award-winning photographer Cathy Stolz will display in the OPL’s Meeting Room throughout November her sharp and evocative photos of Central New York scenes plus her portraits of exotic zoo animals. Her work is available for sale.

Tech Help

Wednesday, 9:00-11:00 a.m.

Volunteer technical advisors will be on hand to help device and laptop users set up, adapt and get the most out of their devices. No appointment is needed.

Yoga for Seniors

Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.

Bill Skinner, a certified Hatha Yoga instructor, conducts a weekly class for seniors wanting to learn safe and beneficial yoga practices. Skinner will adapt postures and breathing exercises to fit the class members’ needs. The class is free.

Family Story Hour

Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

OPL’s new Youth Services Coordinator Megan Gillander brings to the OPL a new evening story hour for young children two years of age on up to second graders and their parents or guardians, complete with stories, games and fun activities to engage children’s imaginations and stimulate their language skills.

Reception for Cathy Stolz

Thursday from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

The public is invited to view the exhibit of photographs by Cathy Stolz in the OPL’s meeting Room and meet the photographer herself. Refreshments will be served.

Oneida Public Library will be closed Friday, November 11, in honor of Veterans Day. The library will be open as usual on Saturday, November 12, at 10:00 a.m.

In this hour-long program for children aged 2 years old on up to early elementary-school students and their parents or guardians, Megan Gillander will connect stories to games to activities with a special theme introduced by a special guest.

AARP’S Driver Safety Program

Monday and Tuesday, 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

An AARP-trained instructor offers a two-day classroom defensive driver course for potential discounts in care insurance. To register, call Bob Fish at 363-0455.

Learn about the new online service Hoopla being offered free of charge by Mid-York Library System to library card holders and practice downloading Ebooks, music and first-rate films.
