Caz libraryFlorence Foster Jenkins to be shown at the Cazenovia Public Library

The Cazenovia Public Library will offer a free public screening of Florence Foster Jenkins (2016) Wednesday, Dec. 14at 1 p.m., in the Community Room. Stephen Frears’ biographical comedy-drama film stars Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant, Simon Helberg, Nina Arianda, and Rebecca Ferguson.

In 1940s New York, heiress and socialite Florence Foster Jenkins zealously pursues her dream of becoming a great singer. Unfortunately, her ambition far exceeds her talent. While Florence maintains delusions of being a Valkyrie-level opera singer, her true lack of skill is painfully apparent to the rest of the world. Her husband and manager, St. Clair Bayfield, an aristocratic English actor, works tirelessly to protect his beloved wife from the truth. His greatest challenge arises when Florence decides to give a public concert at Carnegie Hall.

Florence Foster Jenkins is rate PG-13 and runs 111 minutes.
