The Open Afternoon Book Club will hold its next meeting in the Story Garden Room Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 1 p.m. The group will discuss Trevor Noah’s Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood (2016).

Comedian Trevor Noah—host of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah—was born to a white Swiss father and a black Xhosa mother at a time when such a union was punishable by five years in prison. Through a collection of 18 hilarious, dramatic and deeply moving personal essays, Noah traces his coming of age during apartheid and the tumultuous days of freedom that followed.

Books are available at the circulation desk.
