Ontario County man arrested on rape charges

On March 26, 2019, State Police arrested Benjamin D. Korpiel, 22, of Canandaigua, for first-degree rape, a class B felony.

Korpiel is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with a female by forcible compulsion at a residence in Lafayette. He was transported to the Onondaga County Justice Center for centralized arraignment.

Liverpool Woman arrested for Aggravated DWI

On March 22, 2019, at 3:51 a.m., Troopers responded to a complaint of a possible reckless driver at the Circle K located on Main Street in the village of Phoenix.

Witnesses reported that a female was operating a black Chevrolet Silverado in a reckless manner within the parking lot, and then left the parking lot rapidly along County Route 57.

Patrols arrived in the area and observed a black Silverado traveling south on CR-57. The vehicle was swerving within its lane and then crossed the double solid center line. Troopers initiated a traffic stop, at the intersection of County Route 57 and Huntley Road. The driver, identified as Shaina Neilon, was subsequently taken into custody and placed under arrest.

Neilon, 27, of Liverpool, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated (BAC of .18 percent); felony DWI, having a prior conviction of DWI within the last 10 years; and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, all class E felonies; and operating a vehicle without an interlock device, a class A misdemeanor.

Neilon was arraigned in Schroeppel Town Court and was remanded to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in Schroeppel Town Court at 5:30 p.m. March 27, 2019.
