UPDATE: The address of the fire is 3822 Old State Route 31 in the Town of Lenox. The deceased is Lorrie S. Kennedy, 46, of Eaton. The investigation showed that it was accidental. The injured person received burns to his face, body and hands.
ORIGINAL: On March 31, 2019, at 4:38 a.m., deputies with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Old Route 31 in Lenox for a structure fire.
Members of the Canastota Fire Department were already on scene and advised deputies that one person sustained injuries and another person was deceased. The deceased victim was transported to the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.
The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time until next of kin can be notified and confirmation of identity can be made.
The incident is being investigated by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Madison County Fire Investigations Team. Fire Departments from Sylvan Beach, Durhamville, Wampsville, Bridgeport and Lincoln responded and assisted with the fire.
