On April 19, 2019, at 3:26 p.m., State Police in Herkimer responded to a reported burglary in progress at a residence on Shells Bush Road in Little Falls.

A male suspect had been confronted leaving the residence by a neighbor, who attempted to keep the male from fleeing the scene. The suspect physically threw the neighbor into the door of the residence causing him to suffer a compound fracture then fled the scene into a swampy wooded area behind the residence.

Troopers and state Department of Environmental Conservation officers responded to the scene and established a perimeter. Following an extensive four-and-a-half-hour search utilizing state police K9 and a drone, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect, Dayvon A. Hall, 24, of Little Falls, was arrested for first-degree attempted burglary (B felony), second-degree assault (D felony), possession of burglar tools (A misdemeanor) and unlawful possession of marijuana (violation).

Hall was arraigned in Little Falls Town Court and remanded to the Herkimer County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.

State police was assisted at the scene by several members from the state DEC police.
