The photography exhibit, “Through Our Eyes,” is on display throughout May in the Community Art Gallery at Common Grounds in Cazenovia just outside of Dave’s Dinner.  The display highlights the work of photography students from The Arc of Madison Cortland, whose work was chosen by student jurors in Morrisville State College’s art instructor Leigh Yardley’s Introduction to Visual Arts class.  Both the students and the jurors shared their impressions about the photos.  According to Jim Cooke, photography instructor at The Arc of Madison Cortland, the sharing of impressions helps to promote and foster both understanding and inclusion for all student participants.

Jessica Bero, whose work is featured in the show, has taken classes with Cooke for 10 years.

“I love the photography classes with Jim because he helps me learn so much” she said.

The work of John Gildersleeve, Michelle Galdun, Mike Abbott and Nick Ambs is also featured in the exhibit.

This project is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the state Legislature and administered by CNY Arts.
