Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute student-athlete Keaton Ackermann of Erieville and Cazenovia Junior Senior High School has been recognized by the Liberty League for his efforts in lacrosse.

Ackermann is a defenseman who was named All-Liberty League First Team after he led the team in caused turnovers with 35. He also had 34 ground balls, a goal and two assists. He had multiple caused turnovers in 10 games, including five against Skidmore and four in three other contests. Ackermann also picked up a season-high ground balls with two assists against the Thoroughbreds. He later had four ground balls and three caused turnovers against Clarkson. Ackermann was chosen to the Second Team in 2017 and the First Team in 2018

Rensselaer, under first-year head coach Scott Hackett-Dalgliesh, finished 12-5 overall and 5-3 in the conference. The Engineers, who suffered four losses to teams that qualified for the NCAA Tournament, advanced to the Liberty League Semifinals for the second straight season.
