Canastota’s local National Day of Prayer event was held at Conquest Christian Center Thursday, May 2. People from seven area churches gathered there to lift up the needs of our nation, state and community in a spirited display of Christian unity.
Following brief worship led by Dave and Heidi Lupi of Believers Chapel, leaders from several area churches led spontaneous prayer for seven key areas of need in the nation: Our leaders in government, our military and law enforcement, media and entertainment in America, business and economic prosperity, education (at all levels), the various needs of American families, and the effectiveness of the church as the body of Christ on earth. This year’s National Day of Prayer theme was “Doing All Things in Love,” and individual’s prayers focused on magnifying God’s love in each of those seven areas of need. The spirit present throughout the evening was undeniable and inspiring to everyone in attendance.
During the following week, members of Believers Chapel, Hope Christian Fellowship and Conquest Christian Center met each evening for another series of special prayer meetings that built off the NDOP the week before. Prayers for healing, emotional restoration and revival in Madison County were offered each day, concluding on Saturday morning May 11.
The final business meeting of the Canastota Area Assn. of Churches before Summer recess was held Wed. May 22. Plans for groups attending the Franklin Graham Decision America Rally at the Lakeside Amphitheatre Thursday, May 30, were discussed, as well as the CAAC’s continued participation in the upcoming Boxing Hall of Fame Parade Sunday, June 9.
