Library announces its Summer Story Time schedule

Escape the summer heat and head to the Cazenovia Public Library for some Story Time fun!

Offered three days a week throughout the summer season (beginning July 9), “Story Time in the Story Garden” allows children to interact and enjoy books, songs, movement activities, rhymes and playtime in an engaging and inviting environment. Each session is thoughtfully designed to instill a lifelong love of reading and learning.

Children ages two and younger and their parents/caregivers are invited to join Betsy Kennedy at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesdays for “Baby Story Time.” Each 45 minute session will feature books, songs, rhymes and movement activities geared toward our youngest readers, followed by open playtime. Siblings are welcome.

“Toddler Story Time,” for children ages 2-3, will be offered at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesdays. Ms. Jenna will share books, songs, rhymes, movement and interactive activities and conclude each session with open playtime.

“Explore and Learn” sessions are specifically designed to promote learning, creativity, and socialization through hands-on activities and observation. Children ages 4-5 are encouraged to join Ms. Jenna on Thursdays at 10:15 am for engaging activities, exploration, stories, songs, and art projects. Parents are encouraged to exit the Story Garden for a portion of each program.

Library to sponsor annual Teddy Bear Parade

Kick off the Fourth of July weekend with a unique village tradition designed specifically for kids. The Cazenovia Public Library and Cazenovia Children’s House, Inc. will co-sponsor the beloved annual Teddy Bear Parade at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 6.

Children of all ages, their teddy bears and their families will gather at Memorial Park (behind the Farmer’s Market) for a simple craft and music before marching as a group down the Albany Street sidewalk to the Library lawn for games and light refreshments.

In the case of rain, the festivities will be relocated to the Library Community Room.

Families are invited to adorn their wagons, strollers, tricycles, and teddy bears with festive Independence Day decorations. Feel free to bring a percussion instrument of your own.

All events at the Cazenovia Public Library are free and open to the public. For more information, call 315-655-9322 or visit
