State Police search for missing Oswego County woman

State Police is searching for Arizona K. Bartlett, age 20 from Orwell, who was reported missing by family members on July 5.

Arizona was last seen on July 4th at approx 2 pm. She is described as being 5 foot 5 inches tall, 140 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing gray stripped shorts, heart-shaped sunglasses, and burgundy Nike hightop sneakers.

Fatal Motorcycle Crash in the town of Watertown

On July 3, 2019, State Police in Watertown investigated a motorcycle/vehicle crash that occurred on State Route 3 in the town of Watertown, Jefferson County.

The preliminary investigation has revealed, at approximately 3:15 p.m., a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Jerry J. Hanlon, age 55 from Watertown, was traveling west on State Route 3 when he failed to stop for the red light at the intersection of State Route 3 and Towne Center Drive.

A 2015 Chevrolet Malibu, operated by Joseph R. Wood, age 38 from Altmar, was proceeding north and crossing State Route 3 when the motorcycle struck the passenger’s side of the Chevrolet Malibu. Hanlon was ejected from the motorcycle and was transported to Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown where he was pronounced deceased. Mr. Wood was not injured in the crash.

The investigation is continuing.

Fatal Motorcycle Crash in the town of Florence

On July 5, 2019, at 1:08 p.m., State Police in Sylvan Beach responded to a report of a motorcycle accident on Wolcott Hill Road in the town of Florence.

Responding patrols located a 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle down an earth embankment off of the eastern shoulder of the roadway. The operator, Brandon E. Humphrey, age 26 of Camden NY was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The preliminary investigation revealed Mr. Humphrey was traveling on Wolcott Hill Road when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, exited off the east shoulder and struck a tree.

The investigation is continuing.

Wayne County Woman dies in Lewis County ATV crash

On July 5, 2019, at 12:53 p.m., State Police in Lowville responded to an ATV/Truck crash on North Shore Road in the town of Diana, Lewis County.

An investigation at the scene revealed Tammy J. Shears, age 53 from Savannah, NY was operating a 2013 Suzuki ATV east on North Shore Road and around a sharp curve in the roadway, when she drove into the path of a 2018 Dodge pick-up truck, operated by Isaiah S. Young, age 20 from Gouverneur, NY that was traveling westbound on North Shore Road. Shears took evasive action, which caused the ATV to overturn. Mrs. Shears and a passenger on the ATV, 28-year-old, Bailey R. Dougherty from Sodus Point, NY were both ejected from the ATV.

Tammy J. Shears was pronounced deceased at the scene. Bailey Dougherty was airlifted by LifeNet to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse with severe leg injuries.  Mr. Young was not injured in the crash.

The investigation is continuing.
