State police in Oneida arrested Jeremy L. Cook, 22, from Eaton, for first-degree attempted robbery, a class B felony and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class A misdemeanor.

Cook is accused of entering the A-N-W EZ Mart store on State Route 26 in the town of Eaton at about 11 p.m. last evening with a knife and demanding money from the cashier.

The cashier immediately recognized Cook and refused to hand over the money. Cook was located at his residence and was taken into custody without incident.

Cook was arraigned in Eaton Town Court and remanded to Madison County Jail on $7,500 cash bail or $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Eaton Town Court at 3 p.m. Aug. 19, 2019.
