This October, the Utica Public Library will present a three-program tribute to British Culture. The kick-off event will be “An Evening of British Cuisine” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019. Authentic British cooking will be provided by Linda Irwin. A slideshow with more than 240 images of British pop culture icons and British architecture will run during the event.
At 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, there will be a screening of the 1967 British classic, “To Sir, With Love,” starring Sidney Poitier and British pop star Lulu. The film is rated PG.
The closing event will be “The Beatles: We Love Them, Yeah…Yeah…Yeah!” performed by The Monk Rowe Trio at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25. All the big hits of The Beatles catalog will be included, and there will be drawings for free copies of Beatles CDs and books.
The concert will also offer Beatles trivia.
