Interested in a career in manufacturing? Learn the skills necessary for manufacturing positions within regional companies during a two-week manufacturing skills boot camp Monday-Friday, Oct. 28-Nov. 8, from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., in Follett Hall at SUNY Morrisville’s Norwich Campus.
The training is for anyone interested in pursuing a career in manufacturing and those working in an entry-level manufacturing facility and those who want to gain skills to advance in the industry.
“A good candidate for the program may not desire to work directly in production, but may wish to work in the quality, procurement, maintenance or another supporting role,” said Daniel Goldman, Admissions and Workforce Development coordinator at the Norwich Campus.
The two-week course will cover technical drawing interpretation, dimensional measurement, electrical systems, schematic interpretation and electrical measurement, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical drives and others.
Boot camp graduates have the opportunity to attend a job fair, hosted by Commerce Chenango at the Norwich Campus Wednesday, Nov. 13, where they can meet with regional businesses that have open manufacturing positions.
