Celebrate Halloween with a free family-friendly event at Rogers Center. Friends of Rogers presents “Animals of Halloween” beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 12th at Rogers Environmental Education Center in Sherburne. Follow the pumpkin lined path to the Outdoor Classroom for a performance by the Schmitt Sisters Dance! group at 5:30 pm to kick off the event. Then at 6:00, travel the trails around the Visitor Center to see the actors dressed as animals of New York State and learn about each animal they portray.

Thanks to Gilligan’s Island of Sherburne, Hot chili and mac-n-cheese will be available for purchase, and Friends of Rogers will be selling campfire s’mores for roasting. Fidelis Care will be handing out candy and pencils, Jenni Larchar will be performing at the fire pit area and families can get help with making s’mores. The evening ends with free cider and donuts in the Outdoor Classroom around 8 pm.

“Animals of Halloween is a family friendly event for all ages, no haunted house or anything that might scare children.” Said Simon Solomon, Executive Director at Friends of Rogers. “We want families to be able to come out and enjoy this free celebration.”

Pumpkins will be carved by the Sherburne-Earlville Elementary students a few days prior to the event and will be lit to light your way to Animals of Halloween. For more information, please follow the Facebook event or contact Friends of Rogers.
