(The auction is being held in the library’s program room.)

It’s Christmastime and Santa wants to hear from you. So stop in to the library now (until December 20) and write your letter to Santa with all your Christmas wishes on it. Make sure you address the back of the paper when you fold it, so we can deliver it to the North Pole for you. Slip it into our special letters to Santa mailbox at the circulation desk. Open to all ages; young and old.

Join us for Kiddies Korner, our preschool story hour, on Tuesday December 3 at 10:00am. Help us have fun with “Chugga-Choo Choo Trains.” Stories, finger plays a craft and more. Can’t make it that day? Join us the following week (December 10) for “Gingerbread Men.”

Please join us for “Holiday Book Creations.” at 6:30pm on Wednesday December 4. Robin Branch-Staelens will be back and she will be teaching us how to make holiday items from recycled books. Maybe a candle, a wreath or a tree, we shall see. All are welcome.

Friday December 6 will be our Christmas Cards & Gifts program at 6:30pm. Come make 3 Christmas cards and/or gifts too. Cost is $5 per set of 3 activities (payable the night of the program). Jackie Groves of Librarystampers Creations will demonstrate how to use stamps and other tools to create these unique items. This is open to ages 12 and up (but if someone younger wants to participate; a parent/guardian must come too.) We must have 5 people signed up to have this event, so please sign up now at the circulation desk.

“Holiday Fun for Homeschoolers.” will be on Tuesday December 10 at 1:30pm. Come join us as we have fun with the holidays. If you are a homeschooler and plan to attend, please email the library manager at mrounds@midyork.org with the country and holiday you want to present on then create a presentation, a craft project to do that day or a food of that country and bring in today. We shall share our countries and then make a fun treat and a fun craft.

We welcome all to join us on Friday December 13 for our Annual Open House from 5:00pm-8:00pm. Come see what theme we chose for our Christmas tree. Eat some yummy goodies. Be sure to sign up for your chance to win your own “Elf on the Shelf” book or an adult Christmas coloring book. Come see Santa.. The kids can play games, watch some Christmas movies, make some crafts and more. DON’T FORGET to make your final bids on our silent auction. Lots of fun for the ENTIRE family.
