Herkimer County man arrested following a physical domestic involving an ax

State police arrested Ronald E. Dingman, 53, of Little Lake Road, Richfield Springs, on charges of second-degree criminal mischief (a class D felony); and third-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon (all class A misdemeanors).

On Sept. 11, 2019, at approximately 7:40 p.m., state police responded to a domestic incident at a residence on Little Lakes Road. Investigation revealed the victim was allegedly choked to the point of losing consciousness and Dingman allegedly used an ax to damage the victim’s vehicle.

The victim was treated for injuries at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.

Dingman was arraigned in Norway Town Court and remanded to the Herkimer County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.

The investigation continues.

Syracuse Man is charged with possession of cocaine and heroin following a traffic stop

State Police arrested Jahmol S. Reid, age 31 from Syracuse, NY for the following charges:

  • Three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, class “B” felony
  • One count of Tampering with Physical Evidence, class “E” felony
  • Three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, class “A” misdemeanor
  • One count of Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree, class “A” misdemeanor.

On September 4, 2019, at approximately 2:15 a.m., Troopers conducted a vehicle & traffic stop on a 2003 Ford pickup truck along Erie Boulevard West in the city of Syracuse for a vehicle and traffic violation.  During the interview of the driver, a back-seat passenger, later identified as Jahmol Reid, fled on foot.

Following a short foot pursuit, Reid was subsequently was taken into custody. Troopers charged Reid with possession of approximately 39 grams of crack cocaine, 11.8 grams of heroin, 7.5 grams of powder cocaine and numerous Oxycodone and Percocet pills.  Additionally $2,465 in US currency was also seized from Reid.

Reid was processed at SP Lysander and transported to the Onondaga County Justice Center pending centralized arraignment.

Members of the State Police Violent Gang & Narcotics Enforcement Team assisted in this investigation.
