HCR Home Care employees came together during this holiday season to donate toys, food and clothing to children and families in need.
The employees’ generosity across the company’s New York state service area included:
Catskill region – collected clothing, winter boots, gift cards, toys, games and other items for a family in Cobleskill that lost everything it owned in a fire. The military veteran parents have seven children between the ages of 5 and 16.
Central N.Y. region – collected items for Vera House, which aims to prevent and end domestic and sexual violence and other forms of abuse. Employees donated children’s clothes, toys, games, arts and crafts, and winter clothing.
Finger Lakes region – donated toys, books, blankets, hats and mittens to Bivona Child Advocacy Center for children and teenagers, from infants to 19-year olds. HCR employees also “adopted” eight local families and provided games, toys, clothing, books and more to the families, and they donated food for Thanksgiving to local families in need.
North Country region – Clinton County donated gifts to the Clinton County Christmas Bureau, which provides Christmas presents to children who wouldn’t receive gifts otherwise; Warren/ Washington counties – collected dish soap, towels, canned goods and other household items for The WAIT (Welcoming Adolescents in Transition) House, which provides emergency shelter, transitional living, street outreach and other services to homeless youth.
