On Dec. 11, 2019, at Delmonico’s Italian Steakhouse in Utica, Eagle Scout alumnus Big Mike Morrill, CEO of Total Solutions, Inc., of Clinton, sponsored for the second time this year, an Eagle Scout reunion for the Leatherstocking Council. The first Eagle Scout alumni reunion he sponsored was at Ocean Blue restaurant April 24, 2019.
As part of the program, Council President Matt Dziedzic of Allstate Insurance in Yorkville, thanked Total Solutions and provided everyone with a Council update and introduced Paul Obernesser of Rome, the Council Camping Properties Committee chairman, to let everyone know Steve Barnes pledged to donate $100,000 to Camp Kingsley’s 100th anniversary capital campaign if we can raise another $200,000 by July 4, 2020.
By the end of the night, another $37,500 was pledged by three Eagle Scout alumni: Jim DiCastro of Rome; James Jordan Associates, Architects of Richfield Springs; and the family of John Edwards of Liverpool.
Together with Barnes’s pledge and other gifts and pledges received over the last couple of months, the Leatherstocking Council needs to raise another $150,000 over the next seven months to complete this $300,000 project.
