Police respond to report of shots fired on Roberts Street
On Jan. 8, 2020, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Utica Police units were dispatched to the 700 block of Roberts Street regarding a shots-fired complaint. Upon arrival, officers located a male, later identified as 21-year-old Daryun Prescod of Utica, who had been struck once in the leg from the gunfire.
Prescod reported he was seated inside his vehicle in the roadway when he began to hear gunfire and then noticed he was struck; he was transported to a local hospital by the Utica Fire Department where he underwent emergency care.
His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
