Stabbing assault Brinckerhoff Avenue
On Jan. 22, 2020, at about 8:55 p.m., Utica police were dispatched to 1627 Brinckerhoff Ave. for a stabbing investigation.
Upon arrival, they located a male victim suffering from a severe stab wound to the abdomen. The male was conscious and alert and was immediately transported by the Utica Fire Department to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
There were several other individuals in the residence at the time, all of whom cooperated with UPD investigators about the circumstances of the incident.
The victim was brought to surgery, and continues to be treated for his injuries, which he is expected to survive.
As a result of their investigation, the UPD’s Criminal Investigations Division charged Jaime Lynn Hayes, 33, of Utica, with second-degree assault and third-degree possession of a weapon, both felonies.
