Governor Andrew Cuomo announced last week that the Central New York region can reopen for Phase 3 beginning, June 12, 2020. Phase 3 includes the reopening of personal care industries such as nail salons and tattoo parlors, as well as food service so restaurants can open for indoor seating up to 50 percent capacity.

“We are open,” said Madison County Board of Supervisors Chairman John M. Becker. “Madison County has been working regionally with Onondaga, Oswego, Cayuga and Cortland counties to make sure we can get our communities back to work and back to business. We continue to reach all of our metrics laid out by the state, and we are glad to see that the governor recognizes the hard work of the residents of Madison County.”

“We have worked hard as a community to limit the spread of COVID-19,” said Public Health Director Eric Faisst. “Since June 4, Madison County has had less than 15 active cases. Our fight is not over, but we are one step closer to the end of this. It is important to remember that we need to continue to wear face coverings when you are unable to maintain social distancing and to practice good hygiene.”
