Kevin is new to the Rome shelter and came here as a transfer from another rescue. He is a handsome guy with a a very happy-go-lucky temperament when meeting new people, he loves getting attention and the staff said he even gives really nice kisses. Experience with large breed dogs like him would be awesome, as he can be strong on his leash. He likes to work hard and play hard. Once he’s tired after playing fetch and showing off his great playtime manners, he’s down for a good cuddle session.
He does need to work on his leash manners but the staff here is working hard on refining them and said he’s an excellent learner so far. In his past, he was a little over bearing with other dogs. He tends to get very stimulated meeting new dogs and can be a little much for them so the staff said he would do best in a home as the only pet.
He has been working his hardest to please and do better on his leash as he is very strong and still gets very excited/reactive when he sees other dogs but don’t let that discourage you because thats an easy fix. It would be nice for him to have a fenced in yard to call his own but it is not a requirement. Continued leash training will be a condition of his adoption but the staff says he will flourish in a loving home and make a great family addition. Children around 10 years or older would be preferred as he sometimes forgets how strong he can be. If you think you have the right home and time for him call the shelter to ask about meeting him, you will fall in love with his personality and kisses.
Adorable Mew Mew was brought to the shelter when her owner could no longer care for her. She is a sweetheart who loves spending time with people and being pet. Just as her name would suggest, Mew Mew is quite talkative and has a very cute little voice. She is going to be a wonderful companion for the right person. This big girl weighs in at just under 20 lbs, so she will need an owner who is committed to helping her lose weight through diet and play.
Mew Mew is young, and deserves a life where she is comfortable and healthy. Her ideal home would be with adults, and she can be with children ages 13 and up. She would like to be your only pet. If you think this cutie pie is the right fit for your household, fill out an interest application for her. Someone will reach out to you so you can meet her soon.
