On June 30, 2020 at approximately 9:40 p.m., Utica police were dispatched to the 300 block of Mary Street regarding a male gunshot victim.
While en route, it was learned that the party was being self-transported to the hospital; however, prior to arrival, the Utica Fire Department was able to intercept the vehicle, provide immediate aid to the victim and transport him to St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.
Due to the victim’s condition, he was immediately sent to surgery, and no formal interview was able to take place at that time.
Information learned on scene was that the incident occurred in the 300 block of Mary Street, with a residence there being struck several times by gunfire and the victim being struck one time in the midsection. Several spent 9mm casings were located nearby, as well.
