(Cazenovia, NY – Feb. 2013) If you would like training on how to use iPhones, digital cameras, eBooks or Google, stop by the Cazenovia Public Library for a class with a technology trainer. An iPhone class will be held Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 4 p.m. This class will introduce users to their iPhone – how to turn it on, navigate settings, make a call and use applications or “apps.”

Also Feb. 20, a digital camera class will be offered at 7 p.m. During this class, users will learn how to get photos off their digital camera and onto the computer where they can then send them in emails, upload to Facebook or order prints on line. Participants should bring their camera, necessary cords and a laptop, if possible.

Two classes will also be offered Monday, Feb. 25. The 10 a.m. session covers eReaders and will show users how to borrow eBooks from the Mid-York system, which now offers a new and improved catalog with more precise selection options.

Participants should bring their personal device to class while those interested in exploring eReader options will have the opportunity to handle the Kindle Fire, Kindle Touch and Nook Color.

At 1 p.m., an introduction to Google and Gmail will give teach participants to create a Google account and learn how to send, receive and organize email.

Also covered will be how to use Google calendar to create events, send invitations and share calendars with friends and family. A final topic will be a discussion of “the cloud” to better understand how Google’s programs and services function.

The final two classes will be held Monday, March 4. Google Apps will be taught at 1 p.m. where students will learn about Google Drive, free word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software. Participants will practice creating documents, organizing them into folders, downloading and sharing.

At the end of class, time will be allowed to practice, as well as to explore other free Google tools.

The eReader class will again be offered at 7 p.m. March 4.
