Students Named to Marist Dean’s List

The following local students have been named to the Marist College dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester:

Audra Boehm of Oneida, a member of the class of 2015, is majoring in biomedical sciences; Gretchen Bradley of Sherburne, a member of the class of 2015, is majoring in environmental science – policy emphasis; and Sierra Morris or Sherburne, a member of the class of 2016, is majoring in psychology.

MVCC Students Inducted into Honor Society

Mother Nature put the spotlight on 139 Mohawk Valley Community College students by providing a beautiful winter sunny day as they were inducted into the Lambda Beta Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society in the Dr. Michael I. Schafer Theater on the Utica Campus.

This year’s event marks the 53nd Anniversary for the Lambda Beta Chapter at MVCC, which was started in 1960 with the induction of 24 students when the College was known as the Mohawk Valley Technical Institute.

The 2013 spring semester inductees include Michael Baum, of Earlville, majoring in computer information systems; Rebekah Joslyn, of Oneida, majoring in psychology; Shelby Ritzel, of Oriskany Falls, majoring in criminal justice; Samantha Savage, of Canastota, majoring in culinary management; Christopher Thomas, of Oneida, majoring in associate in applied science (pre-nursing); Darren Trotz, of Oneida, majoring in accounting; and Emily Vanderhoff, of Oneida, majoring in general studies/health studies.

MVCC Announces Students Named to President’s List

Mohawk Valley Community College, located in Utica and Rome is proud to announce the names of students whose high academic performance has qualified them for recognition as members of the president’s list for the recently completed fall 2012 semester.

The president’s list includes 845 students who achieved a grade-point average of 3.75 or higher (of a possible 4.00). To be eligible for these honors, full-time students must have successfully completed 12 or more attempted hours, and part-time students must have successfully completed six attempted hours.

The vice president’s list at MVCC recognizes students who achieve a grade-point average between 3.50 and 3.74. To be eligible for these honors, full-time students must have successfully completed 12 or more attempted hours; and part-time students must have successfully completed 6 attempted hours.

Kelly Earns Degree from University of New Haven

Meghan Kelly of Waterville graduated from the University of New Haven Jan. 19 with a masters in cellular and molecular biology.

Students Named to Dean’s List at St. Bonaventure

The following area students have been named to the fall 2012 dean’s list at St. Bonaventure University:

Molly Hudson from Cazenovia, who is majoring in elementary education/special education; Andrew Wartella from Oneida, who is majoring in finance; Trey Didio from Oneida, who is majoring in journalism-mass communication; and Caroline Franz from Cazenovia, who is majoring in sport studies.

Students Graduate from Clarkson University

The following students graduated from Clarkson University in December 2012:

Erin P. Kinney of Erieville, bachelor of science in electrical engineering; and Andrew G. Smith of Cazenovia, bachelor of science in mechanical engineering.

UAlbany Announces Dean’s List

The following students were named to the University at Albany’s fall 2012 dean’s list for outstanding academic achievement:

Alexis Phillips and Holly Wilkinson of Canastota; Tracy Crandall and Nicholas Petrovich of Cazenovia; Robin Steiner and Elizabeth Taylor of Earlville; Michaela Darmento of Kirkville; Brianne Printup of Munnsville; Ryan Duke, Zachary Olmsted, Jared Rinaldo and Nicole Rossi of Oneida; Logan Klockowski of Sherburne; and Abigail Grace of West Edmeston.

Sheridan Earns Dean’s List Honors at Saint Joseph’s

Bryan P. Sheridan of Oneida earned dean’s list honors at Saint Joseph’s University for the fall 2012 semester, Sheridan is majoring in food marketing. Students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or above, a B or greater in all their classes, and complete at least 15 credits to earn dean’s list status for a semester.
